How the process works
- Preliminary document review. We identify the document type, where it was issued, and the destination country so the appropriate Oregon process can be confirmed.
- Notarization when required. If the document requires an Oregon notarization, Pearl Notary can perform the notarial act when the document and signer are eligible.
- Submission. We prepare the apostille/authentication request and submit the original document to the Oregon Secretary of State.
- Return coordination. After the state completes the authentication, we coordinate return of the original document and attached certificate.
Important: The apostille or authentication certificate is issued by the Oregon Secretary of State, not by Pearl Notary. Pearl Notary acts only as an agent/facilitator. Customers are responsible for confirming the document requirements of the receiving country, government agency, court, school, or other organization. Government processing times and acceptance by the receiving authority cannot be guaranteed.
